100.5 THE ROCK EXPANSION APPLICATION

THE NEWS

After operating for nearly 5 years as 100.5 the Rock with a 50 watt signal, we have applied to the CRTC for a power increase that will give us a 50,000 watt signal at 98.5.  The increased power will give us the opportunity to establish a new  listener base to about 100 kilometers around the city of Yorkton. We are at a critical point in our application now where we are looking for letters of support.  Please forward this information to anyone else you think would be able to intervene on our behalf. 

If you believe it is important that Christian Radio in Yorkton be allowed to expand to reach many thousands in Eastern Saskatchewan, there are three ways that you can let the CRTC know:

1. ELECTRONIC  - There are specific steps for this. Go to www.crtc.gc.ca ; Once there, go to Public Proceedings and click on "Broadcasting Proceedings open for comment"
Click on Notice Item "2010 - 548".
That brings you to a page titled Broadcasting Notice of Consultation CRTC-2010-548. Click on "Broadcasting interventions/comments form" near the top of that page
Follow this 6 step process to submit your comment:
  i) Under Notice # find "2010-548" and click on it
  ii) Check off "Application/Reference Number 201009150" and  click "Next"
  iii) Record your comment
  iv) There is a checkbox - Check "You are not required to appear"
  v) Identification
  vi) Verification 

2. FAX the CRTC (819)-994-0218

3. MAIL a letter to: CRTC, Ottawa, Ontario, K1A 0N2
All letters must reference application number 2010-0915-0. The support can come from members of your family, your business or an organization and need to be received by the CRTC by September 7, 2010. Please see crtc.gc.ca for more detailed instructions regarding the submission of a letter or fax.
